OLPC-廣達：OLPC即將量產 Eee PC不成威脅

台灣製造商廣達（Quanta）電腦今（31）日表示，專為開發中國家孩童設計的OLPC將在10月正式量產。

廣達今日召開第二季法說會，在會前的記者會上，廣達副董事長暨總經理梁次震表示，儘管面對部分零組件缺貨問題，但是由於供應商和OLPC團隊先前已經簽訂合約，因此OLPC確定會在第四季正式出貨。面對另一低價電腦陣營–由英特爾領軍的Classmate PC計畫成員華碩（Asus）的低價電腦Eee PC即將面市，梁次震強調，OLPC鎖定的是開發中國家學童，和Eee PC在價格和規格上都偏向已開發國家市場相比定位大不相同，「OLPC接受度不會受到Eee PC的影響，」梁次震說。

OLPC-第二代OLPC售價50美金 有觸控螢幕、WiMAX

又稱百元電腦的「一學童一筆電計劃」(OLPC, One Laptop Per Child)，預計在2009年中推出第二代OLPC，售價約50美金。並支援最新的WiMAX和觸控螢幕技術。

OLPC技術長Mary Lou Jepsen日（4）昨來台參加國際顯示技術研討會，會中表示看好經濟規模將大幅帶動目前OLPC中最昂貴的零組件–顯示器成本下滑。預計2009年中，第二代的OLPC即不僅售價更為平易近人，只要50美金左右；還有可能因為無線網路晶片和處理器等其他硬體價格下滑，得以擁有WiMAX無線網路技術和觸控螢幕功能。
