UMPC-CeBIT展NB廠強打UMPC 威盛好樂

UMPC今年在漢諾威CeBIT展成為當紅炸子雞,筆記型電腦業者包括三星、華碩、技嘉等,今年均在展場中大力推廣新款UMPC(Ultra Mobile PC),負責提供晶片組的威盛,可望成為最大贏家。

威盛預計第三季發表新款UMPC晶片組,代號CX3M,與前一代的C7-M相較,將更強調繪圖技術,可支援Vista Aero 3D介面。

台灣製造商廣達(Quanta)電腦今(31)日表示,專為開發中國家孩童設計的OLPC將在10月正式量產。

廣達今日召開第二季法說會,在會前的記者會上,廣達副董事長暨總經理梁次震表示,儘管面對部分零組件缺貨問題,但是由於供應商和OLPC團隊先前已經簽訂合約,因此OLPC確定會在第四季正式出貨。面對另一低價電腦陣營–由英特爾領軍的Classmate PC計畫成員華碩(Asus)的低價電腦Eee PC即將面市,梁次震強調,OLPC鎖定的是開發中國家學童,和Eee PC在價格和規格上都偏向已開發國家市場相比定位大不相同,「OLPC接受度不會受到Eee PC的影響,」梁次震說。

殺手級應用,才是市場的破壞者

網路電話技術出來已來就很久,從我知道最早的Iphone(internet phone),到最近百家爭嗚的p2p電話,早先就因為電話費用過高,造成使用上的選擇性不高。

後來skype才打響了名號,網內互打不用錢,這才是真正的殺手應用,只要能上網,就能打電話,而skypeout,也是大量購買話務,才有這麼低的成本。

現在真的打大陸比打手機便宜(廣告說大甲~太誇張),一分鐘0.9,手機隨便打,還是有4塊多到9塊多的價格。怎麼節省成本的,網路電話,透過海底光纖電纜,就可以做的到。而且現在技術很好我記得之前有看資料,只要頭尾端更換更好的設備,傳輸容量就可以上升10倍。

國內的wifi又還沒有起來,wimax等到死吧。現在主要使用的也只是3.5G技術,你說有多少的應用能力,說真的,我不知道,最近近期內我不會去用。

說google可能會是破壞者,也可以說他是創新者,各家電信都想把持市場,一個利基市場,要他們賺不到錢,這是不太可能的。成了主要的抗拒來源。

iphone就不一樣了,建構在現有的網路環境上,只是應用性的功能改變,並沒有改變通訊的本質。

還記得之前雙模機嗎?(不是phs+gsm)Motorola提的概念是室內用wifi當無線話機使用,走出室外自動切換到gsm網路。可是現在有看到應用產品嗎?沒有看到。
